When it comes to luxury fashion brands, Kentuckians don’t stray far from the rest of the United States.
A recent study by Statista outlined the top luxury fashion brands in the United States. Utilizing Google Trends and ranking search volume interest scores, BetKentucky.com took a break from Kentucky sports betting and was able to determine how these brands rank within The Bluegrass State.
Top Luxury Fashion Brands in Kentucky
Gucci Rules U.S., But Not Kentucky
Gucci ranks No. 1 in brand awareness and brand popularity according to Statista’s study, and it’s No. 2 by a small margin to Burberry in brand ownership for the entire United States.
However, Kentucky’s Google Trends search volume returns a higher ranking for Louis Vuitton. Since French and Spanish explorers first roamed Kentucky’s lands, maybe it makes sense that Louis Vuitton comes out on top.
The French luxury house was founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton. The company produces luxury bags, leather goods, shoes, perfumes, watches, jewelry and other accessories. It is one of the world’s premier luxury brands. Looking for places to shop Louis Vuitton in Kentucky returns several popular choices, including L.V. Harkness & Company in Lexington, and then Brighton, Von Maur and Clayton & Crume in Louisville.
Louis Vuitton ranks fourth in brand awareness and ownership in the United States, but it’s second in brand popularity, according to the Statista data. Gucci, which was started in 1921 by Guccio Gucci in Italy, sells many of the same items as Louis Vuitton. It is now owned by the French conglomerate Kering. Dior, founded by French fashion designer Christian Dior in 1946, comes in at No. 3 for Kentucky, followed by Chanel at No. 4 and Versace at No. 5.
The top five in brand awareness for the United States are Gucci, Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Prada. The top five in popularity are Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dior and Chanel. And then the top five in ownership are Burberry, Gucci, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
