When it comes to the holiday season, Americans of all ages have a song that sets the mood for the most festive season of the calendar year, whether it be a timeless classic like “Santa Baby” or a slightly more modern song like “Last Christmas.”
In the Bluegrass State, the top Christmas song when it came to search interest scores was Eartha Kitt’s 1953 jam, “Santa Baby,” while Bobby Helms’ 1957 classic, “Jingle Bell Rock” was second and the 19th century carol, “Silent Night,” was third, with scores of 11 and 10 points, respectively.
BetKentucky.com took a brief break from Kentucky sports betting updates to find out what local’s favorite Christmas songs are. Using Google Trends, we found the top five most popular Christmas songs based on search interest scores from a timeframe of December 18, 2004 – December 18, 2024.

Classic Christmas Songs for Kentucky Residents
While “Santa Baby” and “Jingle Bell Rock” took home the top two spots in Kentucky this holiday season, other top tier songs in the Bluegrass State included the 19th century carol, “Silent Night,” which had 10 points, while “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” was fourth overall with nine points and “Last Christmas” by Wham! was fifth overall, with a search interest score of eight points.
Of the five, the only Christmas song that can be called anything other than a “classic” is the fifth and final song, which was released by the George Michael-fronted English band on Dec. 3, 1984, while “Silent Night” dates back to the 19th century.
None of those ditties held a candle to the two-headed Christmas classic combo that was “Santa Baby” and “Jingle Bell Rocket” this holiday season, though, with both songs scoring the top two spots when it came to the top holiday songs of 2024 in Kentucky.
